Maya returned to Australia with Singapore still clinging to her senses. She remembered the wet roads outside Changi Airport, the heat of the brick kilns, and the moment the MCG client leaned towards her 3D model. During the working week, those memories sat behind emails, revised drawings, test reports, and phone calls. On Saturday morning, she wanted several hours in which nobody needed an answer from her.
Amey suggested a walk through the city. The sky was a clear Australian blue, and the winter sun carried more brightness than warmth. Maya put on a light coat, slipped her phone into her bag, and met Amey near the tram stop shortly before noon.
